Are there Aide / water stations?

  • YES, we will have aide / water stations Located at:
    • For 15 mile race – Venue only
    • For 35/50 mile race - 6 miles at the venue, 15 miles at the west side of the mountain, 25 miles at Tom May’s parking lot, 35 miles at the venue.

Can we use drop bags?

YES for 35/50 mile race, drop bags must be dropped at the venue prior to 7:45am on race day.  There are 4 drop bag locations:  6 miles at the venue / 15 miles west side of the mountain / 25 Miles at Tom May's / 35 miles at the venue.
• 6 and 35 mile drop bags are to be left at the venue aide station
• 15 and 25 mile drop bags are to be left at the pallet at the venue. This will be taken to the appropriate aide station for you and returned after the race to the venue.  It is the riders responsibility to place the drop bag in the correct pallet.

What is supplied at the aide stations?

We have water, electrolytes, various fruits (usually bananas and oranges), power gels. Why are there time cut off’s for the 35 and 50 mile course?

If a rider does not reach a cutoff location before the allotted time, there is a high risk they will not complete the course before dark, so and put the rider, volunteers, and emergency services at risk to pull them from the course. All time cut off are mandatory.

Is the course marked or do I have to follow a GPS?

The Puzzler course is well marked and you should have no issues following the marking, please listen carefully to the mandatory racers meeting announcements on colors to follow.

If I miss a cut off time, how do I get back to the venue?

The volunteers at the cut off locations (aide stations) will ensure you have a ride back to the venue via vehicle.

Can I preride the course?

Yes you may, but courses may not be completed marked until race day, so please use your map/GPS. If you are on the course other than race day, you MUST have a Texas State Park pass (day or yearly pass).

Is there a place for my family to watch the race?

Our race is pretty much back country with little spectator access, but your family and friends are welcome to watch at the venue, where they will see you start and finish the race. For the 35/50 mile race, they will also get to see you at the 6 and 35 mile mark. They can also find easily accessible viewing by car at the Tom May’s aide station. There are also activates during the day that family and friends can participate in at the venue while you are racing.

I registered for one race category and would like to change it?

Please return to ww.bikereg.com and make your changes, there is a $5 change fee.

I missed the online registration deadline and want to race?

Well then you need to contact the race director and offer him/her a beer and see if they can help you out.
